321 Sheet Stainless Steel
321 ss is a titanium stabilized austenitic chromium nickel stainless steel which was developed to provide an 18 8 type alloy with improved intergranular corrosion resistance.
321 sheet stainless steel. It also improves the elevated temperature properties of the alloy. 321 can be used in applications up to 900 degrees celsius where 304 is normally used up to 500 degrees celsius. It is used principally for applications involving welding or sustained elevated temperature operations. 321 stainless steel sheet 321 is non heat treatable and non magnetic in the annealed condition.
This alloy contains chromium nickel and titanium. Type 321 is a good choice for applications where heat is an issue. 321 can be used in applications up to 900 c where 304 is normally used up to 500 c. 321 321 stainless is a titanium stabilized grade commonly used for service in the 1000 1600 f temperature range.
321 stainless steel coil and sheet is part of the austenitic family of stainless steel. 321 stainless steel plates are part of the austenitic family of stainless steel. Type 321is a stabilized austenitic stainless steel similar to type 304 but with a titanium addition of at least five times the carbon content. Aisi 321 stainless steel ss321 is basically type 304 with the addition of titanium ti which stabilizes carbides against sensitization to prevent intergranular precipitation of chromium carbide when the steel is heated to a temperature within the sensitization range such as during welding.
321h is to obtain the best creep strength and creep rupture strength. This titanium addition reduces or prevents carbide precipitation during welding and in 800 1500 f 427 816 c service. This material is stabilized against chromium carbide formation by the addition of titanium. For service temperatures up to about 1600 f a stabilizing treatment at 1550 1650 f air cool may be used to provide optimum resistance to intergranular corrosion and to polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking.
